Bocuse d'Or

Australian selection ran at Foodservice Australia show

The Bocuse d'Or is regarded as the greatest cooking competition in the world. It runs every second year at Lyon in France with competitors from around the world. But to get there they need to be selected at country and regional level.

In 2017 for the very first time the Australian selections for the Bocuse d'Or took place at Foodservice Australia. Visitors were able to watch the top four candidates compete in a gruelling six hour test of skill and stamina.

The winner was Chef Michael Cole with commis Laura Skvor. They will now represent Australia at the Asian finals on 9 May in Guangzhou, China. If they finish in the top five they will qualify for the Grand Final to be held in Lyon in January 2019.

Michael will be making a guest appearance at the Foodservice Australia show in Sydney this year. The selections will return to Foodservice Australia in May 2019.
